Albert R. Matheny, Professor (Ph.D., Political Science, University of Minnesota, 1979; M.A., Political Science, University of Tennessee, 1974; B.S., Public Administration, University of Tennessee, 1972), is now Associate Dean for Student Affairs in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the Director of the Academic Advising Center. In the past, Professor Matheny had served as the Political Science department’s Associate Chair, Graduate Coordinator, and Undergraduate Coordinator. He specializes in the areas of public law, regulatory policy, and judicial processes. His research interests include regulatory politics, administrative law, science and environmental policy, legal change and judicial reform, and criminal justice.
