Workshop for Business Leaders
The CES in conjunction with the Center for International Regulatory Assistance (CITRA) at Duquesne University conducted two workshops for business leaders in Florida interested in working with European Union member states. The Jacksonville workshop took place on June 14, 2005 at the facilities of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce and consisted of two parts. First a CES representative introduced the strength of the EU-Florida economic relations, particularly in the area of foreign direct investment. In the second part, David Hanson from CITRA spoke about EU regulations regarding CE Marking and how Florida businesses can comply with them. The workshop in Tampa took place on June 15, 2005 at the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce and had a similar format, brief talk on EU-Florida economic relations followed by CE Mark presentation, but concluded with a luncheon and a keynote address by Countess Eva Alexandra Kendeffy.
