Workshop for State Leaders
On Feb 9, 2005 the Center for European Studies at the University of Florida conducted its first workshop for Florida state leaders entitled "Florida and the European Union". The event took place in the Terrace Room on the 22nd floor of the state Capitol Building in Tallahassee, FL and consisted of reception and a roundtable with the participation of representatives from the Spanish, French, Italian and Belgian Consulates in Florida, Enterprise Florida and several branches of European companies in Florida. Complete list of the roundtable participants and a flier announcing the event could be accessed here. Over two dozen state representatives or their staffers attended The roundtable. In conjunction with this event, the CES produced a brochure introducing the European Union and a pamphlet describing the strong Economic ties between the European Union and the state of Florida. CD ROMs with these publications and materials introducing the EU were distributed to all Florida representatives and are available upon request.
