Workshop for K-12 Teachers
The CES workshop on 'Teaching about the European Union aimed at K-12 teachers took place on June 13, 2005 on the University of Florida campus. Topics included introduction to the history and institutions of the European Union, its recent and future enlargements as well as aspects of living and working in a monetary union. The workshop also featured a roundtable of European students from France, Slovakia, Italy, Romania and Bulgaria who shared their views and experiences about the EU. Teachers also received information about related children's literature and created lessons covering topics ranging from EU history and instiutions to European foods. Fifteen Alachua County teachers participated.
