20 Years After 1989

The Center for European Studies (CES) series, FROM THE IRON CURTAIN TO THE EU: 20 YEARS AFTER 1989, is part of a campus-wide commemoration of the collapse of communism which began symbolically and literally with the fall of the Berlin Wall in November 1989.  The aftermath of the Cold War and its effect on Europe and the European Union are particularly emphasized in this series.

Series of events hosted by the University of Florida German Studies in the Languages, Literatures, and Cultures and the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art are taking place this Fall and Spring and are co-sponsored by the CES.

The Center for European Studies (CES) at the University of Florida is a U.S. Department of Education Title VI funded National Resource Center and is also a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence.
